CAPT Dennis Bryant has once more given the maritime
community a great heads up in the April 04 2014 issue of News from Bryant’s Maritime Consulting, by letting us know that the
Coast Guard has instituted a blog for maritime professionals, Maritime Commons,
at http://mariners.coastguard.dodlive.mil/.
This blog will assist us with the task we
have of reducing the firehose delivery of information that comes at us every
day to a drinkable amount. Keeping up is difficult for everyone and here we see
the Coast Guard once more spotting the problem and assisting the profession with
a solution.
One item I saw that needs immediate attention is news concerning an
ALCOAST about cybersecurity from the Office of Port and Facility Compliance, at
http://www.uscg.mil/announcements/alcoast/122-14_ALCOAST.txt.
This blog looks to be mandatory reading for all MTSA
security professionals.
